Ilya Carey is a student at Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys in Canterbury, Kent. He conducted the research for his paper in year 12 (2017) at the age of 17, and as a member of his school’s Beetles Project. His research was the subject of his Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
Ilya is studying A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Dutch.
Iridescent wing casings of the Chrysochroa Wallacei beetle were heated and the changes in colour were investigated.
