A medical breakthrough is quoted to be “the first glimmer of hope”, (The Telegraph), in the HIV field as the medical research is finally paying off. For the past 20 years, there has been virtually no progress in the HIV/AIDS field. However, a recent report from Thailand has shown that the vaccine gave 30% protection against the infection. Due to the statistics, it cannot be legalised as legal vaccinations are required to be 80% or more effective.
