Welcome to Ms. Andréia Azevedo Soares as a new member International Advisory Board. Andréia began her career as a journalist in 1996 back in Brazil working as a trainee for the daily newspaper Jornal do Brasil, Rio de Janeiro, and then as a health correspondent for the national magazine Boa Forma, Sao Paulo. She moved in 1999 to Portugal, where she worked for the PÚBLICO news organization. Her interest in science communication comes also from hosting 4XCiência (“four times science”), which is a weekly TV talk show aired on the RTPN channel (part of the national Portuguese broadcasting company RTP), and was the first one dedicated exclusively to scientific topics in that country. She has a BA (Hons) in Journalism (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, 1997) and a MA in Brazilian and Portuguese Literary Studies (University of Oporto, 2002). Currently she is studying for her PhD these in science communication at Imperial College London.
