Theme: The Result of Science

I took this photo on holiday in the Netherlands. I was on the train just outside of Amsterdam and passed by this thermal power station and wind farm. I think that this photo could represent one of the many results of science as it shows the industrial applications of science. Energy is vital in modern day society and global warming is a key issue in the media. The steam from the chimney shows the vast scale of the power station and there are many more power stations like this across the world. If it weren’t for science, we would not have the ability to construct buildings such as this. Energy would not be produced to accommodate for industry, the economy, and the energy requirements for our day-to-day lives. I have edited this photo by increasing the saturation and removing some of the reflection in the photo (as the picture was taken through a window).
